🔺 Looking Ahead. Penn State baseball fell at Pitt last night, 10-0. The Nittany Lions went into the seventh inning down 1-0 before the Pitt offense exploded for eight runs in the bottom half of the inning. James Lordi made his first career start at Penn State a good one, allowing just one run and striking out five through 3 innings pitched. The two teams finish their season series at 1-1. The Nittany Lions will wrap up the regular season this weekend at Maryland.

🔺 Meet The Newcomer. Penn State women’s basketball has signed Tamera Johnson, a 5’11 forward. She spent the last four seasons at Louisiana, where she averaged double figure scoring in her last two years. She had the second highest scoring on the team last season with 10.2 points per game. She also led the team in rebounding, steals, and blocks.

🔺 Welcome Party. We’re introducing another new member of the Penn State family — Megan Furtney! She joins the women’s golf team as an assistant coach. She was a four-year player and two-year captain at Duke and recently competed in all 10 tournaments at Minnesota, where she earned a Master of Education in Sports Management degree.

🔺 Hit The Books. Women’s tennis senior Sofiya Chekhlystova was named CSC Academic All-District! She’ll advance to voting for Academic All-America honors. She’s earned three Academic All-Big Ten selections, two Big Ten Distinguished Scholar accolades, and two Academic All-District honors. She’s an accounting major and finished her senior tennis season with 16 singles wins.
