📈 STOCK UP

🔺 High Five. Penn State women's soccer will see five alumnae represented in the 2023 FIFA Women's World Cup field, with action having started in full yesterday. Who’s up? Who’s down? And who’s creating SportsCenter highlights? Let’s get to it…

🇺🇸 Alyssa Naeher gets started between the sticks tonight when the United States takes on Vietnam at 9 p.m. in the opening match of the group stage. We’ll be keeping our eyes peeled to see if the American goalkeeper can make any saves like this one against Canada in the SheBelieves Cup.

🇨🇷 Rocky Rodriguez and the rest of her Costa Rican squad were overpowered by Spain in a 3-0 loss in the opening match.

🇮🇪 Marisa Sheva and the rest of the Ireland women’s national squad got nine shots off against Australia, but lost 1-0 in the team’s first-ever World Cup match. They’ll have a chance to rebound next Wednesday when they face off against Canada.

🇨🇦 Olivia Smith and Team Canada held possession for nearly 70% of the match, but ended in a 0-0 scoreless draw against Nigeria.

🇩🇪 Laura Freigang is up bright and early Monday morning at 4:30 a.m. when Germany takes on Morocco in their first match of the group stage.

🔺 Fresh Starts. Four years may sound like forever, but once-in-a-lifetime seasons only come around… well… once in a lifetime. And Penn State football is gearing up to have one of those years. If you’re an incoming freshman, you’ve got roughly 20 minutes tomorrow to grab your seats. Don’t let history pass you by.

Graduate students sold out in 27 minutes.

Seniors sold out in 18 minutes.

Juniors sold out in 20 minutes.

Sophomores sold out in 20 minutes too.

🎉 TRIVIA ANSWER

Answer: Bucknell!

In 1887, Penn State played their first year of football with a two-game schedule. Both games were against Bucknell, and both games were Nittany Lion wins.

🦁 Have a good Friday and a great weekend, y’all.
