🔺 Still Undefeated. The Penn State defense forced five Illinois turnovers on Saturday in its Big Ten opener, as the No. 7 Nittany Lions took home a 30-13 victory!

🗒 POSTGAME NOTES: Penn State Football vs. Illinois

🔺 Dominant Weekend. Penn State volleyball took care of business this weekend, picking up wins over UMBC and Seton Hall.

The Nittany Lions swept UMBC on Friday, as Camryn Hannah recorded her 1,000th career kill.

Penn State then took down Seton Hall in four sets on Saturday. Jess Mruzik tallied 20 kills and Gillian Grimes recorded a career-high 19 digs.

🔺 Hat Trick. Penn State men’s soccer got not one, not two, but three goals from Liam Butts in its Big Ten opener on Friday, downing Ohio State 3-0.

The Nittany Lions (3-1-2) are back in action tomorrow evening, hosting Maryland in another Big Ten contest.

🔺 Nittany Lion Clinic. Penn State women’s soccer flexed its muscles against Maryland on Friday, winning 4-0 to improve to run its win streak to seven matches, the longest win streak for the program since 2019.

Kate Wiesner, Ellie Wheeler, Olivia Borgen and Rebecca Cooke all scored, and were part of an attack that outshot the Terps 27-2.

🔺 Win One, Lose One. Penn State field hockey picked up a 2-1 win over Bucknell on Sunday afternoon, thanks to goals from Mackenzie Allessie and Sophia Gladieux.

The win over Bucknell served as renewed momentum for the Nittany Lions, who dropped a close 1-0 double overtime decision to No. 10 Rutgers on Friday.

🔺 Nittany Lion Legend. Penn State Athletics and Penn State men’s basketball mourn the passing of former Nittany Lion basketball player Stanley “Whitey” Von Nieda.

Von Nieda was the oldest living alumnus in NBA history, passing away at the age of 101 last week.
