The Happy Valley Adventure Bureau (HVAB) announced an exciting new partnership with Penn State wrestling great Carter Starocci as he pursues an unprecedented fifth national championship. The campaign is part of a comprehensive marketing strategy to capitalize on opportunities to work with student athletes in the NIL era.

“Carter’s Drive and dine for Five” is an engaging YouTube/social media series that will chronicle Starocci’s wrestling goals competing at a higher weight class as he and special guests dine at some of Happy Valley’s most popular restaurants.

🔺 Crushed Ice. No. 12 Penn State women’s hockey earned a split in its season-opener series against No. 13 Northeastern on Friday, winning 2-1 in Game 2 at Pegula Ice Arena.

The Nittany Lions trailed 1-0 heading into the second period, but goals from Tessa Janecke and Maddy Christian in the period gave them the come-from-behind victory.

Penn State continues play this Friday, when it travels to Storrs, Conn. to take on UConn for a two-game series.

🔺 Only Takes One. No. 15 Penn State women’s soccer picked up another Big Ten win on Sunday, taking a 1-0 decision at Nebraska to move to 9-3-1 overall and 3-2 in conference action.

Mieke Schiemann scored on a free kick from just outside the penalty area in the 16th minute, and proved to be the only score the Nittany Lions needed.

🔺 Sunday Funday. No. 4 Penn State women’s volleyball continued its dominance in Big Ten on Sunday, winning in four sets against Michigan State.

The Nittany Lions are now 2-0 in conference play and 12-1 overall, and stretched a couple streaks — Penn State has now won 11 straight matches at Rec Hall and eight straight Big Ten regular season matches dating back to last season.

🔺 Two, Please. No. 19 Penn State field hockey picked up a pair of wins over the weekend, including one over Indiana in its Big Ten opener on Friday.

Natalie Freeman, Sophia Gladieux and Drew Taylor all scored for the Nittany Lions in the 3-2 win against the Hoosiers.

On Sunday Penn State took down Lafayette by a score of 5-1, with Gladieux scoring twice, Freeman finding the net once more, and Morgan McMenamin and Julienne van Bekkum also contributing.

🔺 Up Front. Florence Caron fueled a fantastic showing for Penn State women’s cross country at the Nuttycombe Wisconsin Invitational on Friday, running to a second place finish individually and leading the Nittany Lions to a 10th-place finish as a team in the 25-team field.
