🔺 Hyped In Hockey Valley. Penn State men’s hockey has secured a commitment from the projected No. 1 pick in the 2026 NHL Draft, Gavin McKenna!

🔺 Desert Hoops. Four former Nittany Lions are set to play in NBA Summer League this week — Yanic Konan Niederhauser (Los Angeles Clippers), Ace Baldwin Jr. (Memphis Grizzlies), Zach Hicks (Boston Celtics) and Andrew Funk (Philadelphia 76ers)!

Infants and the elderly are at higher risk for heat-related illnesses because they don’t regulate their core temperature well. While heat-related illnesses can sneak up on us, they often come with telltale signs. Heat cramps typically are the first sign of trouble. They’re muscle spasms that most often occur in your stomach, hands, arms, legs or back. People experiencing heat cramps should sit down, drink fluids and move to a cool, air-conditioned place indoors if possible. Using cold compresses or taking a cold shower may also bring relief.

Dominic Rulli, who wears No. 52 for the Nittany Lions, appeared in all 16 games last season and was named Academic All-Big Ten!

🔺 Nittany Lion Leaders. Six Penn State Student-Athletes attended the inaugural Big Ten Leadership Retreat at the Big Ten headquarters in Rosemont Ill. from June 16-18.

Representatives from six different sport programs were selected to travel to the event, including Mason Carlan (football), Eli Rice (men’s basketball), Moriah Murray (women’s basketball), Erik Bolang (men’s swim and dive and Student-Athlete Advisory Committee President), Drew Taylor (field hockey and Student-Athlete Issues Commissioner member) and Michaela Barbanenete (softball).
