🔺 On Trial. Nine current and former Nittany Lion track and field stars are in Eugene, Oregon this weekend competing at the USATF Olympic Trials!
Current Penn Staters Samaria McDonald (women’s hammer throw) and Darius Smallwood (men’s 800m) will be in attendance, as will former athletes Joe Kovacs, Isaiah Harris, Tyler Merkley, Morgan Shigo, Rachel Fatherly, Brannon Kidder and Rachel Gearing.
🔺 You Shall Not Pass. There are only 71 days left until Penn State football travels to Morgantown to take on West Virginia!
That means we are only Olaivavega Ioane days away from the Nittany Lions being on the field again!
Ioane appeared in all 13 games last season, starting five of those, and earned the coaching staff’s Offensive Player of the Week award in a 31-0 win over Iowa.
🔺 Hockey Honors. While Penn State women’s hockey was winning a conference championship on the ice, the Nittany Lions were also crushing it in the classroom — thirteen members of the team have been named to the AHA All-Academic Team!
