🔺 Get The Brooms Out. Penn State baseball got back on track in Big Ten play this weekend, sweeping Northwestern at home and scoring 35 runs over the three-game series.

The Nittany Lions won Game 1 of the series 8-4 and piled on the runs from there, winning Game 2 12-7 and the finale 15-1 in seven innings.

🔺 Best For Last. No. 25 Penn State women’s gymnastics saved its best for last at the NCAA Ann Arbor Regional Finals on Saturday, concluding its season with a Regional school-record score of 197.050.

The score was the sixth-highest total in school history overall.

🔺 Stuck With It. Down two runs in the top of the seventh inning in Sunday’s rubber match against Nebraska, Penn State softball received a two-run home run from Bridget Nemeth to tie it, and eventually won, 6-5, in 10 innings to claim the series.

The Lady Lions are now 28-2 overall and 7-2 in Big Ten play, one game out of first place.

🔺 Even Faster. If you blinked, you might have missed him — Penn State’s Cheickna Traore lowered his 100m school record this past weekend at the Hurricane Alumni Invitational in Miami, running a 10.20, one of six top-10 program marks set by the Nittany Lions!

🔺 Still Perfect. No. 9 Penn State men’s volleyball remained undefeated in EIVA play this weekend, taking two matches at Charleston to move to 8-0 with just one weekend left in the regular season.

The Nittany Lions own a two-match lead over George Mason, which travels to Happy Valley next weekend for the final two matches of the regular season.

🔺 Over In Overtime. No. 7 Penn State men’s lacrosse took a 6-4 lead into the fourth quarter over the weekend against No. 10 Johns Hopkins, but the Blue Jays outscored the Nittany Lions 4-2 in the fourth and scored first in overtime to win, 9-8.

TJ Malone and Mac Costin both registered hat tricks for the Nittany Lions, and Matt Traynor scored the other two goals.

🔺 Hung Tough. After falling behind 5-1 after one quarter on Saturday, No. 22 Penn State women’s lacrosse matched No. 5 Michigan goal-for-goal the rest of the game but couldn’t climb all the way back, losing 15-10 to the Wolverines.

Kristin O’Neill led the way for the Lady Lions with four goals, with Brooke Hoss right behind with three goals, Kayla Abernathy had two, and Emma Kelly scored once.

🔺 Buckeye Battle. Penn State men’s tennis had a tough time dealing with No. 1 Ohio State on Friday, falling 7-0 to the Buckeyes, who are now 23-1 on the season.
