🔺 Stayin’ Alive. No. 1 seed Penn State women’s basketball used a 45-34 second half surge to erase a halftime deficit and beat Belmont on Monday in the second round of the WBIT and advance to the quarterfinals.

Four Lady Lions scored in double figures — Makenna Marisa (18), Ashley Owusu (16), Leilani Kapinus (11) and Jayla Oden (10).

Penn State will host No. 2 seed Mississippi State on Thursday, March 28 at 6 p.m. in the WBIT Quarterfinals.

🔺 Not Done Yet. No. 25 Penn State women’s gymnastics has been selected to compete in the Michigan Regional of the NCAA Championships, and will compete against Alabama, Michigan and Kent State on April 3.

🔺 Throwing It Back. Riding an eight-game win streak, Penn State softball is right back at Nittany Lion Softball Park today for a matchup with Bucknell at 6 p.m.

Tuesday’s game against the Bison will serve as Throwback Tuesday.

🔺 In-State Battle. Bragging rights are on the line tonight at Medlar Field, as Penn State baseball hosts Pitt at 5:30 p.m. on Dollar Dog Night.

The Panthers are 11-10 on the season and were swept at home against No. 14 Virginia this past weekend.

🔺 Leaderboard Leap. Penn State men’s golf fired off a 4-over 292 in Monday’s final round at the Seahawk Intercollegiate, jumping up to seventh place in a loaded 16-team field that featured seven teams ranked in the top-100 of the GolfState national rankings.

Jimmy Meyers led the Nittany Lions, shooting 3-over and tying for 10th place individually.

🔺 Silver Finish. Penn State men’s and women’s fencing wrapped up its seasons over the weekend at the 2024 NCAA Fencing Championships, finishing fifth in the combined team standings.

The Nittany Lions were led by Neil Lilov, who finished as the national runner-up.
