🔺 Big Ten Champs! For the eighth time since head coach Cael Sanderson arrived in Happy Valley, Penn State wrestling is the champion of the Big Ten!

Five Nittany Lions won individual conference titles over the weekend, as the program scored a team-record 170.5 points, far out-pacing second place Michigan’s 123.5 points.

🔺 Very Upset. Both the Penn State men’s and women’s lacrosse teams came away with huge upset wins this past weekend!

The No. 10/11 men ‘s team dominated No. 8 Cornell, 20-9, with Matt Traynor scoring seven goals and TJ Malone recording his 200th career point in the win.

The Lady Lions took No. 22 Rutgers into overtime on Saturday, where Gretchen Gilmore scored a goal assisted by Kayla Abernathy to take down the Scarlet Knights, 10-9.

🔺 Senior Day Surge. A four-point game between Penn State men’s basketball and Maryland at the half turned into a 16-point Nittany Lion win on Senior Day at the Bryce Jordan Center!

With the win, Penn State earned the No. 11 seed in this week’s Big Ten Tournament, and will face No. 14 seed Michigan on Wednesday at approximately 9 p.m. ET in Minneapolis.

🔺 In The Field. No. 15 Penn State women’s hockey was selected for the 2024 NCAA Tournament on Sunday afternoon, slated to face off against No. 7 St. Lawrence in the Madison Regional at 8 p.m. this Thursday.

🔺 Now We Wait. Penn State women’s basketball finished up a two-day stay at the Big Ten Tournament on Friday, beating Wisconsin in Round 2 before falling to No. 2 seed Iowa in the quarterfinals.

The Lady Lions will now wait until Selection Sunday on March 17 to see whether they will be dancing in the NCAA Tournament.

🔺 Weekend Winner. Four total runs separated Penn State baseball and Harvard over the weekend, with the Nittany Lions winning two close games to start the three-game series before dropping Game 3 on Sunday in Cary, N.C.

🔺 Climbing Higher. No. 23 Penn State women’s gymnastics posted the second-best road score of the season on Friday at Southern Utah, and as a follow-up to that performance, put together the 10th-best team score in school history at the NC State Quad Meet on Sunday.

🔺 On Ice. Penn State men’s hockey bowed out of the Big Ten Tournament in two games against No. 8 Minnesota over the weekend, losing Game 1 by a 5-1 final score before losing a heartbreaking Game 2, 3-2.

🔺 Texas Heat. Penn State softball finished up a tough weekend in central Texas on Friday, losing both ends of a doubleheader to Texas State.

🔺 Two In California. Penn State women’s tennis dropped a pair of matches in California over the weekend — 4-1 to Loyola Marymount on Friday and 5-2 against UCSB on Saturday.

🦁 ONE BIG THING

🔺 All The All-Americans. Penn State track and field earned four All-American honors at this past weekend’s NCAA Indoor Track & Field Championships, including a pair from Cheickna Traore.

Traore finished seventh in the 60-meter dash and saved his best for last, finishing second in the 200-meter dash.

Handal Roban placed seventh in the men’s 800 meters to earn All-American honors, and Hayley Kitching finished fourth in the women’s 800 meters.
