🔺 National Champions Yet Again! Penn State wrestling claimed its 12th NCAA team title under Cael Sanderson over the weekend in Philadelphia!
The Nittany Lions landed 10 All-Americans, only the second team to ever achieve that feat, and crowned two champions — Carter Starocci and Mitchell Mesenbrink.
Penn State has now won 12 of the last 15 contest NCAA Championships (no event in 2020) and its fourth straight for the third time since Sanderson became head coach in April of 2009. Sanderson is now second in all-time NCAA history with 12 head coaching titles to his credit.

Spy the Migration at Cape May Bird Observatory. People say March comes in like a lion and goes out like a lamb. So, for this month of seasonal transition, we’ve rounded up a whole host of indoor AND outdoor activities.

🔺 We’re In! No. 13 Penn State men’s hockey has earned a berth into the NCAA Tournament!
The Nittany Lions, who are serving as the host for the Allentown Regional, earned an at-large bid for this season's tournament. Penn State will battle No. 3 overall seed, and the top-seed in Allentown, Maine at 8:30 p.m. on Friday, March 28. The game will be broadcast on ESPN2.

🔺 B1G Close. No. 27 Penn State women’s gymnastics competed at the Big Ten Championships in Ann Arbor, Mich. over the weekend, compiling a team score of 196.050.
Alyssa Kramer scored 9.9 on floor and tied for first in the event, earning her a spot on the All-Big Ten Championship team.

🔺 West Coast Winner. Penn State women’s lacrosse dug itself out from an early three-goal deficit at Oregon on Sunday, beating the Ducks 19-10 to earn its first Big Ten win of the season.
Brooke Hoss had a career-high five goals, while Kelly MacKinney tallied five points of her own with a goal and four assists.

🔺 Spartan Series. Penn State baseball dropped its first Big Ten series of the season over the weekend, losing two-of-three games to Michigan State at Medlar Field.
The Nittany Lions took Game 2 of the series, 11-5, with Jesse Jaconski hitting two home runs and driving in six.

🔺 On The Diamond. Penn State softball played a three-game series at Indiana over the weekend, winning a wild 14-13 game on Friday before dropping the final two games against the Hoosiers.
Maddie Gordon was fantastic at the plate in the Game 1 win, going 3-for-4 with two home runs and six RBI. The Nittany Lions hit .474 as a team in the win.

🔺 Back And Forth. No. 4 Penn State men’s lacrosse fell its Big Ten opener on Sunday to No. 9 Ohio State, 13-9.
The Nittany Lions led 3-1 after the first quarter thanks to goals from Liam Matthews, Luke Walstrum and Matt Traynor, but could not hold on.

🔺 The Great Outdoors. Penn State track and field opened its outdoor campaign over the weekend at the Penn Challenge, claiming eight first-place finishes in Philadelphia.

🔺 Road Dub. Penn State women’s tennis picked up a conference road win on Saturday, traveling to Piscataway, N.J. and beating Rutgers, 4-1.
The Nittany Lions took the doubles point before singles victories by Patricia Grigoras, Jordina Cegarra and Maiko Uchijima.
🦁 ONE BIG THING

🔺 High Honor. The honors continue to roll in for Penn State women’s hockey’s Tessa Janecke — the all-time leading scorer in program history has been named a Second Team CCM/AHCA Division I All-American, the second season in a row she has claimed that honor!
