🔺 Dual Domination. No. 1 Penn State wrestling dominated No. 2 Iowa over the weekend, 30-8, in front of a record-tying sellout crowd in the Bryce Jordan Center.

The Nittany Lions won eight of ten matches, including two tech falls and two majors.

🔺 Gates Opened. No. 12 Penn State men’s lacrosse opened its season on Saturday with a 14-9 win over Colgate at Panzer Stadium.

Matt Traynor collected seven points in the win, the second time he has piled up that many points in a single game. Kyle Lehman laid claim to the first goal of the season for the Nittany Lions.

🔺 All-Time Run. The all-time top-10 list for the collegiate men’s 600-meter run looks a little different after this weekend, as Penn State’s Darius Smallwood ran a 1:15.49 at the Penn State National Open on Saturday.

Smallwood’s mark is the tenth-fastest collegiate mark ever, while Olivier Desmeules broke the Canadian indoor record in a time of 1:15.59.

🔺 Top-10 Win. No. 7 Penn State men’s gymnastics pulled out a win in its Big Ten opener over the weekend against No. 6 Michigan, 319.000-13.900. Penn State used 11 season-high scores in Saturday’s meet to secure the win over the Big Ten preseason favorites.

The No. 24 Nittany Lion women also picked up a win, tallying a score of 196.325 against Illinois to pick up their first win over the Illini since Feb. 2, 2019.

🔺 Dozen Dubs. No. 8 Penn State women’s hockey remained perfect in AHA play over the weekend, sweeping Robert Morris to improve to 15-4-1 overall and 16-0-0 in conference action.

Penn State men’s hockey earned a split at No. 13/12 Michigan, winning 5-4 on Friday thanks to a late power-play goal from JJ Wiebusch.

🔺 Weekend Serves. Penn State men’s tennis improved to 5-1 this spring over the weekend, bouncing back from a loss to Yale in New Haven, Conn. with a 4-2 win over Buffalo on Sunday.

The Nittany Lion women dropped their first match of the season on Sunday, falling to Yale in a 5-2 decision.

🔺 Challenge In Columbus. No. 17 Penn State men’s volleyball faced off against a pair of top-10 teams at the Big Ten Challenge in Columbus, Ohio over the weekend, falling to No. 3 UCLA and No. 6 USC.
