🔺 Same ‘Ol, Same ‘Ol. Another weekend, another dominating pair of wins for Penn State wrestling, this time in the state of Michigan against the Michigan Wolverines and Michigan State Spartans!

The top-ranked Nittany Lions took down Michigan, 27-9, on Friday, before shutting out the Spartans, 35-0, on Sunday afternoon.

🔺 Baker’s Dozen. Penn State women’s basketball earned its 13th win of the season on Sunday against Nebraska, holding the Cornhuskers to 37% shooting in a 82-73 victory.

Ashley Owusu led the Lady Lions with 20 points in 27 minutes. She was joined in double figures by Shay Ciezki (17 points) and Leilani Kapinus (13).

🔺 Split Ice. Penn State women’s hockey picked up another conference win over the weekend, splitting a two-game series at Pegula Ice Arena against Syracuse.

After falling 3-1 in the series opener, the Lady Lions exploded for a 5-0 bounce-back win on Saturday.

Penn State men’s hockey traveled to South Bend, Indiana over the weekend to take on Notre Dame, falling 4-1 in Game 1 and 6-3 in Game 2 of the series.

🔺 Split Weekend. Penn State men’s tennis got its season started the right way on Sunday, beating Cleveland State, 4-3, at home.

Miko Eala, Loren Byers, Nolan Ranger and Alexander Sterin all won singles points for the Nittany Lions to earn the victory.

Penn State women’s tennis had the task of opening up its season on the road at Kentucky, and fell to the Wildcats, 4-1.

Sofiya Chekhlystova picked up the lone point for the Lady Lions, winning the No. 1 singles match in straight sets.

🔺 Scratched And Clawed. Down 23 points late against Ohio State on Saturday, Penn State men’s basketball came roaring back to cut the lead to nine, but couldn’t claw all the way back in a 79-67 loss to the Buckeyes.

Puff Johnson and Kanye Clary both scored 13 points for Penn State, Nick Kern Jr. added 12, and Ace Baldwin Jr. had 10.

🔺 Gaining Steam. Despite falling to No. 16 Michigan State, Penn State women’s gymnastics’ 195.950 team score over the weekend was its highest score in a Big Ten opener in two seasons.

The Penn State men finished third at the Navy Open on Saturday, falling in line behind Ohio State (397.300) and Navy (391.250) to finish third with a 385.200 score.

🔺 Made A Splash. Penn State swimming & diving received standout individual performances from a number of swimmers over the weekend, but fell to Virginia Tech and Princeton.

Cooper Morley earned the one win on the day, finishing the 100 back in 46.91, while Morgan Moore (1000 free) and Catherine Meisner (200 free) earned runners-up finishes.

🔺 Work To Do. Penn State men’s volleyball faced a pair of west coast teams in Austin, Texas over the weekend, losing to both in its biggest test of the season thus far.

No. 8 Stanford swept the Nittany Lions on Friday, before No. 1 UCLA did the same on Saturday.
