🔺 Playoff Here We Come! Penn State football is officially in the College Football Playoff!
Sixth-seeded Penn State will make its first appearance in the CFP, hosting No. 11 seed SMU in the CFP First Round on Saturday, Dec. 21. Kickoff is slated for noon in Beaver Stadium and the game will air on TNT and Max.
The winner of Penn State-SMU will take on third-seeded Boise State in the quarterfinal game at the VRBO Fiesta Bowl in Phoenix, Arizona on New Year’s Eve.

🔺 Still Alive! Penn State women’s volleyball has advanced to the second weekend of the NCAA Tournament!
The No. 3 overall seed Nittany Lions won a pair of matches over the weekend against Delaware State and North Carolina to advance to the NCAA Regional Semifinal on Thursday at Rec Hall, where they will meet Marquette. Creighton and Texas square off in the other semifinal matchup, with the winners of those two matches meeting in the Regional Final on Sunday.
🔺 Sunday Fun Day. No. 1 Penn State wrestling won its second dual of the season on Sunday, downing Lehigh 36-3 in front of nearly 10,000 fans in Allentown, Pa.
The Nittany Lions won nine of 10 matches on the day, and held a 21-1 edge in takedowns.
🔺 B1G Opened. Despite going into the halftime locker room tied, Penn State women’s basketball fell in its Big Ten opener on Saturday, 75-60, against Indiana.
Jayla Oden led the Lady Lions with 19 points, with Gracie Merkle (16 points) and Gabby Elliott (13 points) joining her in double figures.
🔺 Still Perfect. No. 12 Penn State women’s hockey moved its unblemished AHA record to 8-0 over the weekend, winning a pair of games over second-place Mercyhurst in Erie, Pa.
The Nittany Lions won 4-2 on Friday thanks to two goals from Maddy Christian and one each from Grace Outwater and Tessa Janecke. Saturday’s win was by a 3-2 final score, with two goals from Janecke and the other from Alyssa Machado.
🔺 Broken Record. Penn State distance runner Brian DiCola carried his momentum from the cross country season into the indoor track season, taking down the school record in the 5K with an outstanding time of 13:40.25 in Boston to highlight the opening weekend of action for Penn State track and field.

🔺 Big Apple Day. Penn State men’s lacrosse recently traveled to New York City for the program’s annual Career Information Day, receiving an opportunity to learn and network with some of the top professionals in the New York City corporate world!
