🏈 No. 6 seed Penn State football will host No. 11 seed SMU in the first round of the College Football Playoff on Saturday, Dec. 21 at noon on TNT and Max.

• This will be the third-ever matchup between the Nittany Lions and the Mustangs. The Nittany Lions are 1-0-1 all-time against SMU. Penn State defeated SMU 26-21 in 1978 while the two teams tied, 13-13, in 1947.

• The First Round game will be a Penn State White Out. The winner of Penn State-SMU will take on Boise State in the quarterfinal game at the VRBO Fiesta Bowl.

🔺 Dominant Showing. Up 27-24 at halftime, Penn State women’s basketball used a dominant second half to pull away from Providence on the road on Wednesday, 68-51.

Gracie Merkle had another stellar game, totaling 24 points and 18 rebounds for the Lady Lions. Moriah Murray (14 points) and Jayla Oden (13 points) also scored in double figures. The win moves Penn State to 9-2 overall.

🔺 Classic In The Capital. Penn State men’s hockey is in Washington D.C. today, participating in the inaugural Capital Hockey Classic against Army at Capital One Arena at 8 p.m.

The Nittany Lions and Knights will play the second game of a doubleheader, with the club hockey teams from Army and Navy taking the ice first.
