🎙 WEEKLY PRESS CONFERENCE: James Franklin — Maryland Week

🔺 Nothing In The Net. No. 4 seed Penn State women’s soccer and No. 8 seed Iowa played the first 94 minutes of their Big Ten semifinal match scoreless on Thursday night, before the Hawkeyes found the game-winner to move on.

Next up for Penn State will be keeping an eye on the NCAA Tournament selection show, which will be this coming Monday, Nov. 6 at 4 p.m.

The Nittany Lions took a 2-1 lead to halftime thanks to goals from Carly Gannon and Sophia Gladieux, and received another from Mackenzie Allessie in the second half.

The two teams played a scoreless first overtime, before the Buckeyes found a game-winner in double overtime.

The two teams played back on Oct. 17, and the Scarlet Knights gave the Nittany Lions one of their two conference losses on the year.

The winner of tonight’s quarterfinal will move on to play the winner of the Michigan State-Ohio State matchup.

The Huskers are 21-0 on the season and sit atop the Big Ten standings, three games ahead of the Nittany Lions.

On Sunday, Penn State will head out onto the road to take on No. 19 Purdue.

The Nittany Lions hold an eight-game win streak over the Lions, and a 30-11-6 all-time advantage.

Penn State has started CHA play hot, sweeping its two-game series at Syracuse last weekend. Lindenwood is 4-6 on the year.
