🔺 Another W. Penn State women’s basketball again had an explosive offensive output on Thursday, winning 89-57 against Canisius to improve to 2-0 on the season.

The Lady Lions outscored the Golden Griffins 31-6 in the first quarter and never looked back from there, getting double-digit scoring games from Gracie Merkle (20), Jayla Oden (12) and Cam Rust (10).

🔺 Home Hoops. Penn State men’s basketball takes the court again today, hosting UMBC at 6 p.m. at the Bryce Jordan Center.

The Retrievers are 1-0, winning 95-66 over Penn State York on Monday. The Nittany Lions are fresh off a 108-point outing against Binghamton in which six different players scored in double figures.

🔺 Road Work Ahead. No. 3 Penn State women’s volleyball travels away from Happy Valley this weekend, playing two teams at opposite ends of the Big Ten standings.

The Nittany Lions are on the north side of Chicago today for a match against Northwestern (2-10 B1G) at 7 p.m. before traveling to Madison, Wis. tomorrow to play No. 7 Wisconsin (10-2 B1G) at 3:30 p.m.

🔺 Pool Party. Penn State swimming and diving is in Columbus, Ohio this weekend for its Big Ten opener against Ohio State today at 3 p.m.

The Nittany Lion men are 2-0 so far this season with wins over Navy and Pittsburgh, while the women split their matchups against the Midshipmen and Panthers.

🔺 Everyone Contributes. Penn State had a wonderful blood drive yesterday!

There were 81 successful donations – including 36 first-time donors. Attendance included Sarah Shire Brown (women’s gymnastics coach), Jess Mruzik (women’s volleyball), Eli Rice (men’s basketball) and the Nittany Lion, who got everyone pumped up!
