🔺 Century Mark Crossed. Penn State men’s basketball was in midseason form on the offensive end on Monday night, beating Binghamton 108-66 in its season opener at the Bryce Jordan Center.
Zach Hicks led the Nittany Lions in scoring with 22 points in a team-leading 30 minutes. Yanic Konan Niederhauser (16), Ace Baldwin Jr. (15), D’Marco Dunn (12), Freddie Dilione V (10) and Dominick Stewart (10) all joined Hicks in double figures.
🏀 BOX SCORE: Penn State Men’s Basketball vs. Binghamton
🔺 Off And Scoring. Penn State women’s basketball scored 33 points in the first quarter against Bucknell in its season opener on Monday and never looked back, winning 90-68 to earn their 12th consecutive non-conference home game.
Moriah Murray scored a career-high 28 points, with 16 of them coming in the first quarter. Gracie Merkle also had a big game, scoring 21 points and grabbing 13 rebounds.
🔺 NCAAs Next. The No. 10 seed Penn State women’s soccer team had its run at the Big Ten Tournament end on Monday, as it fell 1-0 in heartbreaking fashion to No. 2 seed UCLA.
The Nittany Lions are now 12-6-3 overall on the season, and will await NCAA Tournament seeding, which is announced on Monday, Nov. 11.
