Overuse injuries in young athletes often develop gradually and are frequently mistaken for growing pains. Watch for signs like swelling, tenderness, or missed practices due to pain β€” and act early. Following sport-specific guidelines and encouraging kids to play multiple sports throughout the year can help prevent injury. Listening to your child and adjusting activity levels can keep them active while allowing time to heal.
