The American Academy of Pediatrics recommends that children under 16 should not operate or ride motorized or electric scooters due to safety risks. Even some 16-year-olds may not be ready. Before allowing your child to ride, make sure they can stay off their phone and music, stay alert, wear a helmet and proper gear, understand how the scooter works, and follow traffic rules. Readiness and responsibility are key to preventing injuries.
