📈 STOCK UP

🔺 Aced It. Reigning Big Ten Defensive Player of the Year Ace Baldwin Jr. has been named one of 10 Big Ten men’s basketball players to earn Preseason All-Big Ten honors!

🔺 Another One. A day after earning Big Ten Defensive Player of the Week, Penn State’s Abdul Carter has been named the National Player of the Week by the Bednarik Award and Bronko Nagurski Trophy!

🔺 All Even. Penn State men’s soccer grabbed a hard-earned point on Tuesday, playing No. 12 Maryland to a 1-1 draw in College Park.

The Nittany Lions’ goal came off the foot of Caden Grabfelder in the 62nd minute, his third goal of the season.

🔺 Rounded Out. Penn State men’s golf finished in a tie for fourth place at this week’s Nemacolin Collegiate Invitational, highlighted by three Nittany Lions earning spots in the top 20.

Alex Creamean collected the first top-10 finish of his Penn State career, placing eighth at 2-over. Jake Griffin placed 13th at 5-over, and Andres Barraza followed closely behind him in 19th place at 7-over.

The American Cancer Society estimates that one in eight women will be diagnosed with breast cancer in her life. 

It is the second most common cancer among women. While women are more likely to get breast cancer, men can develop this cancer as well.

🦁 ONE BIG THING

🔺 Title Time. Graduate student defenseman and assistant captain Lyndie Lobdell felt a different level of intensity during preseason practices ahead of her fifth season in Hockey Valley. It’s an energy fueled by losses of the past and the ambition to add more championship banners that rest high above the glistening white ice at Pegula Ice Arena. 

Lobdell has donned the blue and white during its rise to college hockey prominence with back-to-back AHA Tournament titles and NCAA Tournament appearances. The titles and tournament trips haven’t brought a sense of complacency to Penn State as Lobdell is seeing how a group blended with eight newcomers and 14 returnees is attacking the 2024-2025 on a mission.
