🔺 Leadership Change. Penn State has made a change in the leadership of its football program, Vice President for Intercollegiate Athletics Patrick Kraft announced today. Associate Head Coach Terry Smith will serve as interim head coach for the remainder of the season. Kraft will lead the national search for the next head coach.
James Franklin concludes his tenure in University Park after 11-plus seasons with an overall record of 104-45, tying him for the second-winningest coach in the history of Penn State football.

🔺 Grabbing Momentum. No. 19 Penn State women’s volleyball pushed its win streak to three matches over the weekend in dominant fashion, sweeping No. 7 Wisconsin on Friday night before taking down Northwestern in four sets on Saturday inside Rec Hall.

🔺 Six Pack. No. 6 Penn State women’s hockey earned its third consecutive sweep to open its season over the weekend, traveling to Delaware and outscoring the Blue Hens 12-0 over the course of two games.

🔺 Put It On Ice. No. 4 Penn State men’s hockey bounced back from a series-opening loss to Clarkson with a 5-2 win over the Golden Knights on Friday night at Pegula Ice Arena, its first victory of the season.

🔺 Squared Up. Despite dealing with a pair of one goal deficits, Penn State women’s soccer was able to battle back and force a 2-2 draw against the Oregon Ducks on Sunday afternoon from Jeffrey Field.

🔺 Bruin Battle. Penn State men’s soccer had its three-match win streak snapped on Friday night, falling on the road at UCLA, 2-0.
The Bruins boasted nearly 51 minutes of possession, and as a result allowed just two shots on goal from the Nittany Lions for more than 70 minutes of the game to help the home team to a clean sheet.

🔺 Top Test. Penn State field hockey fell on the road at No. 1 Northwestern on Friday, 4-0, despite Nittany Lion goalie Aby Deverka earning a season-high ten saves in the contest.

🔺 Return To Rec! The Penn State women’s basketball program is set to play games inside Rec Hall throughout the 2025-26 season, while the men’s basketball team will welcome Wisconsin in their Return to Rec game on Thursday, Jan. 22 at 7 p.m.!
