This week's featured Nittany Lion In The Pros, brought to you by AmeriGas, is Jaquan Brisker. The former Penn State defensive back led the Chicago Bears with 14 total tackles, one sack and two passes defended in a loss to the Los Angeles Rams in the NFL playoffs on Sunday.

📈 STOCK UP

🔺 Dominant Day. No. 1 Penn State wrestling went on the road and dominated Iowa over the weekend, beating the Hawkeyes 32-3 in Iowa City!

Penn State, with a lineup featuring six underclassmen, won nine of ten bouts including three bonus point wins. Eight of the ten match-ups featured two ranked wrestlers with 18 ranked individuals competing.

🔺 Downed The Irish. No. 8 Penn State men’s hockey swept Notre Dame over the weekend, improving to 16-6 overall on the season and 8-4 in Big Ten play!

The Nittany Lions are now in second place in the Big Ten standings with 25 points during conference play.

🔺 Squeezed The Orange. No. 4 Penn State women’s hockey completed a season sweep of Syracuse on Saturday, outscoring the Orange 7-3 over two games to improve to 21-4 overall and 15-1 in AHA play!

🔺 B1G Battle. Despite 20-plus point performances from both Kiyomi McMiller and Gracie Merkle, Penn State women’s basketball fell to Rutgers on Sunday, 76-72.

McMiller scored a game-high 27 points for the Lady Lions while adding 11 rebounds, while Merkle scored 21 points.

🔺 Weekend Away. Penn State men’s basketball ran into a hot-shooting Maryland team on Sunday, falling to the Terrapins in College Park, 96-73.

Kayden Mingo returned to the floor for the Nittany Lions after missing the last three games due to injury, scoring a team-high 19 points while adding five assists.

🔺 Four Straight. No. 13 Penn State men’s volleyball pushed its season-opening win streak to four matches on Friday night, scoring an upset over No. 9 Lewis in four sets!

Freshman Tristan Hassell played his best match as a Nittany Lion, collecting 13 kills on .550 hitting.

🔺 Double The Dubs. Penn State men’s tennis got its season off to a hot start on Saturday, earning a pair of 6-1 victories at home against Cleveland State and Fordham!

Kyle Chesman, Christos Glavas, Emil Matikainen, Eyal Shyovitz, and Michael Wright all carried impressive wins in their Penn State debuts.

🔺 Sweep The Floor! Penn State women’s tennis was near-perfect in its season-opening doubleheader Sunday, defeating Villanova, 7-0, before beating Saint Francis, 6-1, at the Indoor Tennis Center.

It is the second year in a row the Blue & White bested the Wildcats and Red Flash in the month of January, having defeated both by 7-0 margins in 2025. 

🔺 Rewrite The Record Books! Penn State track and field’s Hayley Kitching made history on Saturday at the Nittany Lion Challenge, breaking the collegiate record in the 1000-meter race in a time of 2:38.45!

🔺 Mat Matchups. Both Penn State women’s and men’s gymnastics had successful weekends of competition, with the No. 17 women earning their first Big Ten dual win of the season over Illinois and the men picking up seven total podium finishes at the West Point Open!
